What's new...

I haven't been good about updating my blog since we moved to Durb's cz things have just been really busy..so will try do a quick run down on what's potting of late.

My last post was of Hayley's kitchen tea..well since then she has had her wedding on the 23rd of April and it was absolutely beautiful.  We also had Alexis and Ryans wedding here in Hillcrest..was also lovely and nice to see our Jhb friends again.  And then sadly holidays came to an end and I started work in Durban at etv News in May.   It was a bit daunting at first, so many new things to learn and a whole different type of editing..deadlines and pressure which I was not used to, so the first month was rather tough but gradually thing are getting better as I get more familiar with the routine and equipment here.   The hours also take a bit of getting used to..as I only start at 11am and finish around 8pm, so it throws a bit of a spanner in the works with making dinner and just life in general.
As for my hubby..the roles have definitely reversed! - much to his delight :o) he gets to work from home now,  still for his Jhb base company BalmOral.  But because almost everything is run online it works fine for him to be based here and still get the job done.  He also pops up to Jhb for meetings and occasionally to Kabul when needed.
We are currently living in a tiny little flat in Waterfall, with most of our stuff still in storage which is a bit of a strain..but just trying to cope while we sort out things with the house and business.... We are buying a boxing business (with Dane's parents) which is on a 5 acre plot in Crestholme.  There is a house on the premises which is not our dream home (to say the least) but because the business is there it is mostly just convenient for us to live there so that Dane is able to manage the new boxing business and still work for BalmOral without having to run between the two.  So as it stands we are waiting for the subdivision on the property to go through before we can buy but at the end of this month we will move into the cottage on the property until the sale goes through.  Dane has already started learning how boxes are made and all the in's and out's of it all, so being on site next month will make it a lot easier for him but no so much for me... as already working in Durbs is a half hour drive for me and Crestholme is another 7kms away..GRrrrr!

Other news in the fam...Kayley is in her thrid trimester already!! and still looking as gorgeous as ever...with her little boy on board :o) I get to go to a scan later this month.
My sis, just went overseas on a Conticki tour (for her company) to France, Germany and Switzerland !! Awesome experience for her, and she had lots of fun..brought me back some lovely swaroffski crystal earings, a compact mirror from moulin rouge and some yummy swiss chocies - yum! :o)
It's my Grandpa's 80th Birthday this month!!  and My mom is off to Zanzibar next month.

Will try and be more diligent about blogging...just gona take me a bit longer as I have less time on my hands these days not working from home any more. Anyhoo, thats all for now..looking forward to a relaxing weekend :o)

SKYDIVE !!!!

As a gift for my Birthday Dane got me a skydive.. I have been wanting to do it for ages and it was soooo worth the wait.  Wow, what an awesome experience!! The free fall was an amazing feeling...and when you sitting on the edges of the plane and then just kind of drop out!..it was sooo much fun :o)

Once the shoot was out the instructor showed me how to 'steer' and I did it for awhile...at about 4000feet and then he took over and started to spiral down really fast..at which point I actually felt a bit sick!...but it was a smooth landing and I would definitely do it all over again!

A Change is as good as a holiday...

Life has been so hectic the past few weeks...I think it started when I began work at Ignition Tv and snow balled since then...busy during the week with edits and shoots and away every weekend! East London, Durbs, Mpumalanga...was nice to take a breather on the farm and as you can see (below) I hav tried to catch up on my blog posts which have been pretty much non existent this month.

And things will continue to be manic for awhile, I think as we are moving back to Durbs !! MOVING BACK TO DURBS..yay!!! I am so excited to be heading home again..especially with Kay having her baby toward the end of August.  (ITS A BOY!!, by the way...so exciting!!!) and hoping there will also be some wedding planning to be done this year and it would hav killed me to be away for these two big events in the lives of people who are so special to me!  Although I am sad to be so far from Mark, Nic and the girls in Nelspruit, it has been so nice being closer and getting together so often.  We have really enjoyed our time with them..but as I said..will just have to plan more holidays together :o)

Well there are lots of details to be ironed out..but the basic jist of it...is that we are looking at buying a small business in Hillcrest (as a side line thing with Dane's parents) and Dane will continue to work for BalmOral out of Durbs, which will be on a trail basis for the next two months to see if it works out.  As for me..bit sad as I was offered a permanent position at Ignition tv here in Jhb and I have not got anything lined up as yet in Durban..but just trusting the Lord with this whole change in our lives!

So thats news!!..movers come on the 6th April and we should be out of here by the 10th, eeek, so my to do..so little time!..i better get on with it...
