Weekend on the farm

Had a lovely weekend with family at Lawa...

It was Kate's Pamper party over the long weekend (and our 5 year anniversary :o) Girls did a great job with decor, eats, games..toilet paper dress making. Was really nice and she was spoilt with gorg underwear and lingere :o)

Couldn't resist a few photos of the flora and fauna after the mist set in...

Boys will be boys.. how sweet is Reecie on little bike following dad Maurice on big bike..too cute.

Always enjoy getting away and visiting the farm..looking forward to the Wedding in November.

Hobbies...

Have seen these necklace holders around and thought 'that can't be that hard to make ..'And it wasn't actually had fun doing it and love how it turned out :o)

I always said to my mom that when I had a house I would just have a sand pit garden and rake it in pretty patterns....oh how times change and I know she gets a kick out of it when I ask her plant related questions or mention my current gardening project :o)

We bought the house with a little greenhouse at the back which was in rather a bad state and I neglected it while I focused on the interior but I got round to pulling it all out and spraying it to kill all the ugly noonoo's that had destroyed most of the veggies.

After a week of miserable weather the Greenhouse had grown tenfold and is now full of lovely herbs and veggies and I just love going to pick something out the garden to put in the salad or cook for dinner.

I have come to realize Gardening is rather rewarding (and a good hobby to keep me busy when the boys are out riding!)

Guest Bedroom

Home decor is in full swing now that I have some spare time on my hands.  Finally got my wall vinyl..it's been a bit of a wait but am very happy with it...

One thing tho..need everyone's help... I designed a bird cage to hang from the branch but when I put it up I wasn't sure if I should add it or leave if off..didn't want it to be to busy.  So options are..put it on the branch where i designed it to be, leave it out all together or...put it on the otherside of the wall ..kinda top corner?

If you have an opinion please leave a comment below this post :o) chanks

Guavas

Having a house of your own definitely make you a bit more domesticated...

Just love this home, we have a guava tree in full bloom at the mo, and so many going to waste so I called up my gran..as grannies always know...to get some advice on bottling.  Was quite perturbed when my guavas were not pink! Dane said they looked like aliens in a bottle! which I was not so impressed about seeing as they suposed to be appetising ..said to my mom I wanted to add food colouring :) but on delivery of my first batch to my gauva loving grandparents I was informed that it is a variety of the white guava (which I didn't know exisited) much to my relief as I was beginning to think my tree was a dud.

Easter at the farm

We did the annual pilgramage to the Mason's farm in Mpumalanga this easter.  Had such a fun time with all the family..really enjoyed it.

Cuzzies...too cute!
A very special family close to my heart. xoxo

Was so nice to have Bevan and Blayze with us, bonding time for the Grandparents..in their element.

Easter wouldn't be easter without the big hunt on Sunday morning (and a few before then ;o)...so much fun with the kiddies.  Could take pics of them all day long!..and I kinda did...
Even the boys had a blast...bundubashing around the farm...

check out so footage from the ride...

Just cruising through...

Back from a five day cruise to Maputo on the Sinfonia with Mark & Nic, Bolty & Lisa.  Was nice to get away and to see the Masons (after having withdrawals not being close by in jhb any more).  Everyone else seem to find their sea legs but I suffered a bit from motion sickness.  Enjoyed relaxed tanning on deck and the day on the island, the food wasn't great and the staff rather snotty but still had a good time together.

Cayson Kai Daly

I know it has been ages since I have update my blog..and so much has happened but so little time.  Anyway the most important of those happenings in my little nephew so I'm doing a post of him and will catch up on everything else at a later stage...

Cayson was born on the same day as his uncle Dane, 26 August.  An amazing birth...his mom popped him out in less than an hour (from the start of labor!!) He is now 3 weeks old still so tiny and too cute for words.  Took sum pics of him sleeping like a little angel in his crib.

Baby Shower

This weekend was Kayley's Baby shower..
the biggest one I have ever been to..53 people.  Dev and Stace did an awesome job on games and keeping everyone entertained..(you can see Kay below using her tum tum to fold clothes on, so cute..and practical ;o)
Her theme for the nursery is grey and blue..bears and stars..so we went with decor along those lines...
I made the nappy motorbike and Amber (Kay's other sis in law) and Glenda her mom in law got the cake.  Mom did the little fruit salad prams sooo cute as we decided to do a brunch party.

Was such a nice day and Kay deserved every bit of spoiling she was such a good sport!

Almost 6 weeks to go..I am sooooooooooo excited!

What's new...

I haven't been good about updating my blog since we moved to Durb's cz things have just been really busy..so will try do a quick run down on what's potting of late.

My last post was of Hayley's kitchen tea..well since then she has had her wedding on the 23rd of April and it was absolutely beautiful.  We also had Alexis and Ryans wedding here in Hillcrest..was also lovely and nice to see our Jhb friends again.  And then sadly holidays came to an end and I started work in Durban at etv News in May.   It was a bit daunting at first, so many new things to learn and a whole different type of editing..deadlines and pressure which I was not used to, so the first month was rather tough but gradually thing are getting better as I get more familiar with the routine and equipment here.   The hours also take a bit of getting used to..as I only start at 11am and finish around 8pm, so it throws a bit of a spanner in the works with making dinner and just life in general.
As for my hubby..the roles have definitely reversed! - much to his delight :o) he gets to work from home now,  still for his Jhb base company BalmOral.  But because almost everything is run online it works fine for him to be based here and still get the job done.  He also pops up to Jhb for meetings and occasionally to Kabul when needed.
We are currently living in a tiny little flat in Waterfall, with most of our stuff still in storage which is a bit of a strain..but just trying to cope while we sort out things with the house and business.... We are buying a boxing business (with Dane's parents) which is on a 5 acre plot in Crestholme.  There is a house on the premises which is not our dream home (to say the least) but because the business is there it is mostly just convenient for us to live there so that Dane is able to manage the new boxing business and still work for BalmOral without having to run between the two.  So as it stands we are waiting for the subdivision on the property to go through before we can buy but at the end of this month we will move into the cottage on the property until the sale goes through.  Dane has already started learning how boxes are made and all the in's and out's of it all, so being on site next month will make it a lot easier for him but no so much for me... as already working in Durbs is a half hour drive for me and Crestholme is another 7kms away..GRrrrr!

Other news in the fam...Kayley is in her thrid trimester already!! and still looking as gorgeous as ever...with her little boy on board :o) I get to go to a scan later this month.
My sis, just went overseas on a Conticki tour (for her company) to France, Germany and Switzerland !! Awesome experience for her, and she had lots of fun..brought me back some lovely swaroffski crystal earings, a compact mirror from moulin rouge and some yummy swiss chocies - yum! :o)
It's my Grandpa's 80th Birthday this month!!  and My mom is off to Zanzibar next month.

Will try and be more diligent about blogging...just gona take me a bit longer as I have less time on my hands these days not working from home any more. Anyhoo, thats all for now..looking forward to a relaxing weekend :o)
