♥ Christmas Time ♥

We managed to make it down to Durbs just in time for Christmas Eve..which we spent with the Bennison side of the fam.  Unusually small for a change as the Hoddies head to Knysna so it was just Cand, J..Mom, Dad..Nind and Gramps.  And then on Christmas day we were with the Temletts..also a small gathering with Kay, By..Mom and Dad..Bevan and Blayze.  Even tho it was such a short visit, it was so worth the trip to be with family over Christmas.

For those of you who have been to visit, you would know of our immense torture and frustration that we experience with the dreaded peacock that reside next door!  And who keep us up at all ours of the night with their incessant  foghorn-like screeching.   Well I happen to come across the whole family (pests) consisting of 2 males and a female while driving into our complex recently...needless to say I did try run them ova but with no luck! Grrrr

But managed to snap this pic of the one menace as it tauted me, once the gate had shut!

Breakfast Run...

On a much lighter note.. we went on a breakfast run with the Subaru club on Sunday morning 5:30am meeting!!
Bit early for me..but the countryside was so scenic and we saw some hot air balloons just taking off..was really pretty, would love to do that some time.

Strange...

Okay..so I got these flowers earlier this year..when I potted them they where this beautiful orangy/peachy/yellow...a few months later and they are budding again and I'm left with boring plain yellow, what happened??? :o(

Swartkopz Performance Car Challenge

This weekend Dane entered a car event at Swartkopz raceway with a bunch of the other Subi guys.  Love to see him in his element and we had a lot of fun.

There are three events..Skid pan, hill climb and track.   Best times for each event are taken and the winner is the best combined time over all... Dane walked away with 1st Prize in his class :o)

Herb Box

Just found these cute little spades with herb names on them..so sweet :o)

Since we got back from Holiday..my garden has been devastated!..spent most of last weekend trying to pull weeds out and get it back to something half decent!  My only triumph was this cute little herb box which has taken nicely.  Definitely in need of another one (or two) as I didn't manage to fit in half as may varieties as I would have liked.

Holiday

Spent the last two weeks out and about..went down to Durbs for some work and a bit of socalising too..and then off to St Lucia (Sobhengu).  Was lovely to be with friends and family again in Durbs and Hillcrest and really nice chill out time up the coast.

Had to take the doggies on the road trip otherwise they wld hav starved to death for the 2 weeks away! They actually behaved themselves, apart from Chase drooling on my neck and Kim trying to eat my speckled eggs. lol

Doug and Jon where out from the UK..so lots of fun and games for the boys including Marc & Ricci too (go karting pic).  Doug in his most typical position..(see beach pics at st lucia too!)

Went go-karting 3 times!! after the guys found this new place in Pmb..and I made them stand on the podium for giggles, as u can see my hubby not amused at my joke.  Even tho he managed to get on the leader board!

Visited Kay and By's new house!!!! but won't show the house as I'm sure they would like to reveal it on their own blog when its all ready.  Big Congrats to them ♥

Off to the St Lucia...(view from our deck)

The Beach was 26kms of dirt road and another 30kms tar..so quite a drive but with dodgy weather to begin with it actually turned into a lovely day, really nice snorkeling. The guys gave fishing a bash but didn't have much luck with the wrong equipment.

A short walk from the cabin was a vast expanse of pan which made for some pretty pics :o)

We kept ourselves amused with putt-putt, swimming, stalking monkey's and just generally 'chilaxing' (as doug would say)

Gabs and Sienna are such a pleasure to be around and so photogenic..here are a few of my fav's

Away for the weekend...

We went to visit Mark, Nic and the girls for the long weekend..it was so nice to get out of Jhb and just have a relaxing weekend.  Sienna & Gabi are so precious and a real joy to be around. Sienna was petrified of Dane to begin with but after a day they became fast friends playing together at the building site..supa cute!

Garden

Loving the Spring time, everything is budding and flower..makes gardening that much more rewarding I'm really enjoying it.  Now if I can just get my grass to grow back and some rain would be nice!

Learning new stuff...

I seem to have too much free time on my hands (for most this is a good thing..not so much for me)..so I started putting my time to good use.  Am learning a new graphics based program to enhance my editing. Have been really enjoying it, but it is very time consuming a few seconds of graphics/vid can take hours to make...anyway here is short clip that I made..to introduce my showreel (to follow at a later stage).

The quality is not the best for web but u can get the idea...

Mom's 50th Birthday Wkend...

Byron and Kay came to stay for the wkend, we had breakfast together on Sunday and made mom do a treasure hunt for her present in the garden...

then we went to Gold Reef City for the day and had lots of fun...

We had such a nice day together..only wish Dane had been there too.

The tower of terror was insane!! A vertical drop, face first...and while we were waiting in the line the ride kept getting stuck..so we were a bit nervous to say the least!

I went to the berg this last week for work..wish it could have been for pleasure rather and that Dane could of come but anyhoo, can't complain not many people get to work in the berg!

We stayed in the chalets at Champagne sports.

The first trip in my new little car (corsa sport)..ain't it cute :o)

We had a day off during the week so I went to watch the falcon show..was very good.  Fell in love with the cute little owls.

Bryan Adams

Mom, Cands and I went to the Bryan Adams concert in Durbs.  We had golden circle tickets, so we go there early and managed to get front row!!! It was the most amazing experience, we had so much fun :o)

You can see how close we are, but this still doesn't do it justice we where so close..i swear at one point he actually looked straight at me! ;o)
